A Servant's Homegoing
Bishop J.A. Thompson went home to be with the Lord on January 3, 2005, at the age of 88, closing an era of visionary leadership.
A New Pastor Appointed
Supt. Keith E. Thornton, Sr. was elevated as Pastor, carrying forward Bishop Thompson's vision at his inaugural celebration.
J.A. Thompson Multi-Purpose Center
The multi-purpose center was renovated and opened as a tribute to our founder, completing his vision for the church.
Sanctuary Renewed
Pastor Thornton led the renovation of the interior and exterior of the church building, updating it and making it more fitting for worship.
Shape Spa Purchased
The church acquired the Shape Spa property, expanding its footprint for future ministry.
Family Life Center Dedicated
The Thompson Temple Keith E. Thornton Family Life Center was opened and dedicated, housing a food pantry, clothing closet, computer lab, and library.
Virtual Ministry Begins
The COVID-19 pandemic brought a new season of virtual ministry, streaming services and staying connected while apart.
Feeding the Community
Through the Family Life Center, weekly food giveaways served the community throughout the pandemic.
Diamond Jubilee
Thompson Temple celebrates its 75th Anniversary — a testament to God's enduring faithfulness.
